Amor Libris: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Heather: I am 36 years old. I’m married to my high school sweetheart. We have 3 kids, a teen age son and two tween girls. I live in New Jersey. I absolutely LOVE writing and reading.
Amor Libris: What is your favorite motivational phrase, and why?
Heather: Live, Love, Laugh because that is what I believe we should all do. Enjoy life, love completely and laugh as much as possible.
Amor Libris: What do you like to do when you are not writing?
Heather: When I’m not writing I like to read and hang out with my family.
Amor Libris: What books and/or authors have influenced you the most?
Heather: K. Webster, Kate McCarthy, Alison Bailey, Colleen Hoover and Priscilla Glenn.
Amor Libris: Are there any new authors who have caught your attention?
Heather: Anne Jolin.
Amor Libris: Who is your favorite character from your book “Commitment” and why?
Heather: Definitely Young. I love him. He is a smartass, an idiot, a foul mouth and can make your panties melt right off but he doesn’t care. He has fun. He also has an incredible sweet side that is something we had not seen before.
Amor Libris: Are any of the characters and/or experiences in your books based upon yourself or someone you know?
Heather: In Changed, some of the things in Kenz’s life were true for me. The loss of her mom and being raised by her dad. Her being more of a tomboy and playing soccer. Kenz’s dad in the book is based off my own dad, name and all.
Amor Libris: Can you share with us about what you are working on now or your next project?
Heather: Right now I am working on a standalone called Dancing Hearts. I am having so much fun with it. There is a lot of music influence in this book and I love that. Of course my main character, Cooper is making it fun in more ways than music!
Amor Libris: Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?
Heather: I would tell them to live their dream. Don’t give up, reach for the stars. It’s not always easy, but it is worth it!
Amor Libris: How can we contact you and find out more about you and your books?
Heather: www.facebook.com/AuthorHeatherDahlgren and twitter.com/HeatherDahlgren
