Amor Libris: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Alisha Cole: I am Alisha Cole. I’m an author, book cover model, and mother of two. I enjoy writing stories that are unpredictable that people can escape in. I am very random, and I have the weirdest addictions to pizza, Thor, Hello Kitty, Aliens, and movies/books with kidnappings.
Amor Libris: What is your favorite motivational phrase, and why?
Alisha Cole: "They want to see you do good, but never better than them, remember that."What I love about this phrase is that it’s true. No matter who is cheering you on, you will always have a hater that hugs you at the end of the day.
Amor Libris: What do you like to do when you are not writing?
Alisha Cole: I enjoy watching movies. I am a huge movie buff. Other than that, dancing is fun and relaxing to me. I can never get enough when it comes to books either. I can read for days.
Amor Libris: What books and/or authors have influenced you the most?
Alisha Cole: Heather Dahlgren and Yolanda Olson have been huge motivators and supporters since day one. I enjoy their work so much. They write with so much passion. I wish to be like them one day.
Amor Libris: Are there any new authors who have caught your attention?
Alisha Cole: Yes, Danika Mars. I saw a teaser recently and it looked incredible.
Amor Libris: Can you share the title and blurb of your latest book??
Alisha Cole: My Beautiful Nightmare, which is a dark romance.
Warning: This book is for ages 18+
This book contains dark, vivid scenes which include rape and suicidal tendencies. Please take caution when reading as it may cause triggers if you have experienced anything listed above.
Laney Harper is a talented piano player who chooses to follow her dreams rather than follow her parents’ wishes of attending law school. Making that decision has sparked a rebellion in her that continues when she heads off to college. While there, she meets and falls for Jake Thomas, local rock star.
Five years later, Laney comes back to her rocker boyfriend, but what’s waiting for her is not what she expected. Finally standing up for herself may be the worst mistake she has ever made, leading to some seriously dangerous consequences.
The horror she endured sends her to therapist James Hardy, a man that can make her forget about her demons while hiding his own.
They say the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem, but when the problem is buried deep down and the world seems like it’s against you, what do you do?
As Laney struggles to get her life back on track, a chain of events is set off and she realizes she has walked into a beautiful nightmare…
Amor Libris: Who is your favorite character from your latest book, and why?
Alisha Cole: My favorite character is Dr. SEXY … I mean, Dr. James Hardy. I love his character because he is mysterious, hides a lot of secrets, and tends to seem very innocent throughout my book.
Amor Libris: Are any of the characters and/or experiences in your books based upon yourself or someone you know?
Alisha Cole: Actually, no. The characters and plot came to me while listening to Pain by Three days Grace. It was crazy and I went with it!
Amor Libris: Can you share with us about what you are working on now or your next project?
Alisha Cole: I don’t have a blurb just yet, but it’s the second book in The Beautiful Nothing series, My Beautiful Lies, which is James my main male character’s POV. In book one, you question what is he hiding? When will we find out? Well, everyone will find out who James really is in this book
Amor Libris: Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?
Alisha Cole: Yes. Do it because you want to, don’t ever rush, and if you love your story and feel it can touch others, then that’s all that should matter.
Amor Libris: How can we contact you and find out more about you and your books?
Alisha Cole: You can find me on Facebook, Instagram, and Goodreads.
