Amor Libris: Can you share the title and blurb of your latest book?

Ian D. Moore: Salby Damned

A small rural town in a ruthless fight between The Shale Gas Fracking Corporation and the Residents Association, which sees the multi-billion pound energy company drilling beneath the town with catastrophic results. A freelance reporter teams up with a mysterious council leader, in a fight to save humanity against one of science’s most fearsome and deadly creations. They must race to find a cure whilst battling against hordes of flesh eating zombies, intent on one thing and one thing only………..KILLING!

A gripping tale of intrigue, thriller and suspense combined with bribery, corruption and money beyond imagination, culminating in a twist to an end you won’t see coming. For anyone loving zombie horror stories, but who needs a little bit more of a story than just how many ways to kill the undead, this is for you, the plots, twists, romances and storyline will keep you reading to find out what happens next as well as giving your mind a good work out, culminating in a final chapter that will leave you wanting more.

There are graphic scenes of violence included in this book and some mildly explicit love scenes, though mostly by implication rather than description so suitable for ages 12yrs and upwards. This book should take you from your surroundings and place you behind the rifle scope, or in the meeting rooms or even flying high over the country in a helicopter…………I hope, as the author, that it does just that.

Amor Libris: Who is your favorite character from your latest book, and why?

Ian D. Moore: My favorite character from Salby Damned, from a writer point of view, had to be Colin Snape. I did my best to make him the embitterment of everything loathsome in a man. By the feedback, I succeeded, which gives me a great sense of satisfaction that I was able to make others “feel” what they did about this man.

Amor Libris: Are any of the characters and/or experiences in your books based upon yourself or someone you know?

Ian D. Moore: Many of the characters in Salby Damned were based upon those I had known in my life, from childhood friends at school to my Army days, indeed, to people I have worked with in my main profession. I’m a watcher, you see, people watching can be a very rewarding pastime … so look over your shoulder every once in awhile. I drew upon experiences for factual content, researched what I didn’t know offhand, and simply skewed characters slightly here and there to get them to be who I wanted them to be. It was a whole heap of fun to do and gave me the bug to write professionally in the future.

Amor Libris: Can you share with us about what you are working on now or your next project?

Ian D. Moore: I have a couple of things in the pipeline. The sequel to Salby Damned has been started, though to be fair, it sort of got sidelined when the anthology You’re Not Alone took off. I owe many people a great debt for their efforts, people I shall never forget. I’m also looking at another angle of writing, a slight shift into the paranormal world with a book to be entitled Being Within. More on that later.

Then I’ll be dragging as many authors as I can, kicking and screaming if needs be, into a 2016 Anthology for the same charity, such is my determination.

My time is split between writing and our brilliant author group the IASD (Indie Author Support & Discussion), where I have been honored to be made one of the admin team. I’m hoping to blast the blog side of the group out there to help promote the brilliance of the writers and the group itself in the very near future.

Amor Libris: Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?

Ian D. Moore: Write. No matter what it is you’re thinking, write it. You may never use it, but if you have it there, then you have the choice. Never fear rejection. Embrace it and use it as a powerful ally to guide you. Put your heart and soul into your words. You’ll be amazed by what they can accomplish. Seek help if you need it, and NEVER become aloof. Keep your feet upon the ground. One of the nicest, humblest people I know has such talent, endearing talent that will one day catapult him to the stars, and I’ll help him get there if I can. If you’re a serious writer, you have serious power. Use it wisely and control it; don’t let it control you. Finally, love it.
